M.J. Petretto Foundation Supports Gaylord Hospital Sports Association’s Adaptive Sports Programs

$8,000 Donation to Benefit Sled Hockey, Quad Rugby Programs

Gaylord Specialty Healthcare of Wallingford recently received an $8,000 donation raised by The M.J. Petretto Foundation 2017 Golf Classic held in Clinton held earlier this summer.

The generous donation will be used to purchase specialized adaptive sports equipment for the Gaylord Hospital Sports Association’s Gaylord Wolfpack sled hockey team and CT Jammers quad rugby team.

The Gaylord Hospital Sports Association provides adaptive sports and recreation programs to adults with a permanent physical disability or visual impairment throughout Connecticut and the Northeast. With opportunities to participate in more than a dozen adaptive sports throughout the year ranging from alpine skiing to adaptive rock climbing, the Sports Association’s goal is to empower individuals to embrace new challenges and reach beyond the barriers to discover what is possible through adaptive sports.
