Man Charged In Attempted Home Invasion In Wallingford: Police
The man tried to break into the home by using a golf club to smash the windows, according to police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A man was charged with attempted home invasion after police said he tried to break into an occupied home Monday in Wallingford.
Police responded to Concord Lane around 5:10 p.m. on the report of a man trying to break into a home, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.
Jaques said the home was occupied at the time and it was “reported to dispatch that the suspect was using a golf club to smash the windows of the home to gain access.”

The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended by officers a short time later in same general vicinity, according to Jaques.
Before the call for the attempted home invasion, Jaques said a man matching the suspect’s description was reported in the area tugging on car door handles and rummaging through cars.

The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Javier Andujar, who has a last known address of Waltham, Massachusetts, according to Jaques.
Andujar was arrested and charged with criminal attempt at home invasion, interfering with an officer, second-degree criminal mischief and two counts of third-degree criminal trespass.
He was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
