Man Charged In Burglary Of Car Dealership In Wallingford: Police

Police said three men and a driver broke into the dealership and stole vehicles that were later used in burglaries in several other towns.

WALLINGFORD, CT — An Ansonia man has been arrested in connection with the recent burglary of a car dealership in Wallingford, according to police.

The burglary happened June 28 at the Infiniti dealership on South Colony Road, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques.

Jaques said three men and a driver broke into the dealership and stole two Infiniti SUVs. The suspects used crowbars and fire extinguishers to break in, according to Jaques.

Officers arrived as the vehicles were leaving, and Jaques said they fled onto Wharton Brook Connector. The stolen SUVs were later used in burglaries in Waterbury, East Haven and Milford, according to Jaques.

Jaques said there had been a “rash of similar style burglaries across the state from fall 2022 through summer 2023.”

Quadele Vickers, 21, of Ansonia, was arrested Aug. 2 in connection with the burglary.

The Wallingford Police Department’s Patrol and Detective Divisions investigated the case with assistance from the Waterbury, East Haven, West Haven, Ansonia, Derby, Stratford, and North Haven police departments, according to Jaques.

Vickers was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, and theft of a motor vehicle. He was being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 11, according to state judicial records.
