Man Found with Nearly 300 Bags of Heroin: Wallingford Police

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford Police arrested a suspected drug dealer in town, who they say was making routine trips to Hartford to purchase large amounts of heroin and selling it in Wallingford.

Steven Vincent, 24, of Eaton Drive in Wallingford, was arrested Tuesday after police say they found him to be in possession of 290 bags of heroin and more than $750 cash.

Throughout the year, Wallingford Narcotic Detectives have received information that Vincent has been making routine trips to Hartford to purchase large amounts of heroin and returning to Wallingford to sell it, according to Lt. Michael Colavolpe.

Vincent was arrested by the Wallingford Police in March and was in possession of heroin and has several narcotic-related cases pending at Meriden Superior Court, Colavolpe said.

On Sept. 13, detectives observed Vincent and 25-year-old Spencer Quigley, of Williams Road in Wallingford, conduct what they believed to be a drug transaction in the Hartford, according to Colavolpe.

Once back in Wallingford, detectives made a motor vehicle stop and Vincent was found in be in possession of 290 bags of heroin and more than $750 cash.

Vincent was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, and conspiracy to possess narcotics. He is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 7.

Quigley was charged with conspiracy to possess narcotics and released on a promise to appear. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 27.
