Man Stabbed Relative Who Tried To Break Up Dispute: Wallingford Police
The man was trying to stab a relative during a dispute in a driveway when another relative intervened and was slashed, police said.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A 28-year-old man was arrested after police said he stabbed a relative who was trying to break up a domestic dispute Monday in Wallingford.
Police responded around 12:30 p.m. on June 24 to the 500 block of Center Street on the report of a domestic dispute where a knife was used.
Officers later found that the suspect had stabbed a male victim at the address, according to police. When officers first responded, police said they encountered the suspect in the back yard and held him at gunpoint and gave several commands.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident, according to police.

During the dispute, police said another relative tried to intervene and sustained a cut to his right hand that wasn’t life-threatening.
The man was arrested on charges of criminal attempt at first-degree assault, third-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence and breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
