Police said there has been an ongoing dispute between the men.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A man was arrested after police said he threatened another man with a shotgun Monday night in Wallingford.
Police responded around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 to a home on Clinton Place on the report of suspicious activity involving a firearm, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.
Jaques said arriving officers saw a man, later identified as 64-year-old David Scott Brown, seated on his front stoop holding a short black shotgun.

“Officers issued verbal commands for Brown to drop the weapon and approach them,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “Brown complied without incident and was taken into custody. The firearm was secured and later determined to be unloaded. A subsequent search of Brown revealed two small knives.”
Jaques said the initial complainant reported seeing Brown holding and manipulating what appeared to be a shotgun, gesturing toward him as he racked the shotgun.

There have been previous and ongoing disputes between the complainant and Brown, according to Jaques.
Brown was arrested on charges of first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond with a court date of March 2.
“A Risk Protection Order (RPO) and Risk Protection Warrant (RPW) were completed and signed by a judge,” Jaques wrote. “Brown’s shotgun, additional firearms, ammunition, and pistol permit were seized.”
