“The victims immediately contacted 911 and drove away from the area to avoid further confrontation,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “The suspect was wearing a mask at the time of the incident. The investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a minor verbal altercation between the victims and the suspect.”

Following an extensive investigation, Jaques said 28-year-old Ajay Ramirez of Waterbury was identified as the suspect, and an arrest warrant was obtained.

Ramirez was arrested Jan. 19 and charged with second-degree breach of peace, first-degree threatening, and risk of injury to a minor. He was released after posting a $25,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 6.
