Missing Wallingford Man Found Dead in Middlefield Woods

The man's body was found by State Police K-9 units on Friday.

The Wallingford man who has been missing since Tuesday was found dead deep in a wooded area in Middlefield on Friday.

State Police K-9 teams found the body of Christopher Rosa, 51, in the woods following a search on Friday, State Police said in a press release.

The Wallingford Police Department issued a Silver Alert for Rosa on Thursday and initiated a missing person investigation.

On Friday morning, the investigation by Wallingford Detectives led to information being developed that Rosa was last seen at Guida’s Restaurant on Route 66 in Middlefield, and was observed walking into the heavily wooded area adjacent to restaurant, according to State Police.

Due to the investigative information uncovered by Wallingford Detectives, and the large search area, Troopers and State Police K9 teams searched the area in an effort to locate Rosa and he was eventually found deep in the wooded area deceased.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene to assist in the investigation and will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine cause of death.
