Motorcyclist Killed In Crash In Wallingford: Police

The motorcyclist died after a crash with a 17-year-old driver, according to police.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday night in Wallingford, according to police.

Police responded around 9:25 p.m. on March 24 to a crash at the intersection of Masonic, North Turnpike, and River Road, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.

Jaques said a 2008 Honda Civic and a Honda Grom Motorcycle were involved in the crash.

Anthony Charlton, 25, of Wallingford, died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash, according to Jaques.

“The preliminary investigation found that Charlton was operating his motorcycle and was traveling northbound on Masonic onto North Turnpike,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “The other motorist, a 17-year-old female operating the 2008 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on South Turnpike Road making a left onto the Meritt Parkway. The collision occurred while the Civic was making the left turn.”

The 17-year-old driver remained at the scene and was “fully cooperative” with police, according to Jaques.

The investigation is ongoing and police are looking for any witnesses to the crash.
