Musical Instructor Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Student: Wallingford Police
The man is accused of sexually assaulting one of his musical students, according to Wallingford police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A Meriden man who worked as a musical instructor is accused of sexually assaulting one of his students in Wallingford, according to police.
Police launched the investigation on Jan. 31 after receiving a report of the sexual assault of a minor, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques.
Adam Romo, 36, was arrested March 17 on a warrant following a lengthy investigation, according to Jaques.

Jaques said Romo, who was a Mariachi-style musical instructor at the time, was found to have “established a sexual relationship with a minor who was one of his musical students.”
Police found that Romo had “sexual encounters” with the minor several times over a period of time, according to Jaques.

Jaques said “numerous other incidents were discovered where Romo made sexual advances on other students.”
Romo was charged with six counts of risk of injury to a minor, two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of second-degree sexual assault. He was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond with a court date of April 1.
