New Football Coach Named At Lyman Hall

The new coach replaces Bill Weyrauch, who stepped down after five years at the helm.

WALLINGFORD, CT — C.J. Monroe has been named the new head football coach at Lyman Hall High School, officials announced on Friday evening.

Monroe had been serving as the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Newington High School, according to the Lyman Hall athletic department.

Monroe replaces Bill Weyrauch, who informed the team late last year that he was stepping down after five years as coach, the Record-Journal reported.

After the news was announced, Monroe thanked the Newington football team and his family in a post on Twitter.

“You all have made a tremendous impact on my life,” he wrote in the post. “I am extremely honored to be the next head coach [at Lyman Hall].
