New Volunteer Opportunity at Wallingford Public Library

Wallingford Public Library is looking for volunteers to participate in the new WPL @ Your Doorstep program.

The Wallingford Public Library is seeking adult volunteers to deliver library books & media to residents who are unable to leave home to come to the Library.

Known as “WPL @ Your Doorstep,” this new service will offer borrowing options to Wallingford residents who are confined to their home due to prolonged illness or extended convalescence.

Working in pairs, volunteers will deliver and pick-up library materials to/from the homes of people registered for the program. The Library will pair up volunteers to deliver to one or more residents on a monthly or biweekly basis depending on the volunteers’ availability.

Volunteers must have a valid CT driver’s license, be willing to use their own vehicle, and authorize the Library to conduct a background check. This is a unique opportunity to make a substantial difference in the lives of community members who want to continue reading and enjoying library materials in their homes.

For more information or to apply to be a “WPL @ Your Doorstep” volunteer, please contact Deborah Ward at 203-284-6410 or by email at dward@wallingfordlibrary.org.
