Nice couple of days at North Farms Reservoir 8-26th & 27th 2017

North Farms Reservoir, ducks, geese, small fish and lots of old lilypads

Nice couple of days at North Farms Reservoir 8-26th & 27th 2017- Sunny, not so hot. It has been very peaceful. I saw one man fishing today for a short time.

There was a Mallard Duck family yesterday by the shore on the Barnes Rd side. In the back of the res there were Canadian Geese too.

Today I did not see any water birds but I bet they were around. There were several small dark color fish about 5 inches long close to shore. There were small birds chirping in bushes but I could not see them. The water is not very deep at the res so it is hard for the geese, ducks and swans to come close to shore. Their legs get tangled in the lily pads and their roots and other debris in the water.

There was only one car today 8-27. considering people fish, eat their lunch, walk their dog and show their kids around on many other days that I have been there. Anyway it was nice. Beautiful place to visit.

On the way home I saw lots of small-medium size black birds on electrical wires near McDonald's. I think they were going for lunch. A train went by and scared them so the moved across the street to the wires near CVS.

Two things I wish:

1. I wish the people in charge would not tag the legs of the birds anymore. They don't have to track birds. The
Canadian Geese have been around a long time as have many other kinds of birds.
2. I wish the state or city in charge would clean up some of the water. The lily pads are rotting, make it worse for the birds swim and the pads also stink at times.

Have a good day though, God has blessed us.
