North Farms Reservoir 3-26-2018

Sunny day but cool day at North Farms Reservoir. Many birds, mostly Swans, Canadian Geese and some Seagulls sitting in the water. It was a nice day for them. So beautiful, there were no clouds in the sky. Cars and trucks were parked.

The birds come on shore near a small area on the left side of the res by Barnes Rd. This is not the main entrance but it is easier for the water birds to come ashore there is no accumulation of dead leaves or branches. When the Canadian Geese are near by there is usually one (I think a male) who watches and kind of guards the group of geese. He usually stands farther away from the bunch when on land.

The main parking lot on the left where there is a boat launch and signs is hard for the birds to come ashore.
There are a lot of rotting branches and dead leaves where the waterbirds legs and feet can get tangled in this mess.

The birds don't normally come to shore on the right side of the res parking lot or in the middle were people go fishing and there are picnic tables. They usually stay farther out by the trees in the back.

I wish the people in charge would clean the leaves and branches for the safety of the birds plus they smell as they are rotting.

Anyway it is so beautiful to see so many birds as the weather is warming up.
