Obituary: Adeline Teresa Severino, 88, Of Wallingford

Adeline married, became a homemaker and devoted herself to raising her family while also working at the family businesses.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Adeline Teresa Severino, 88, of Wallingford, loving wife of 60 years to the late Matthew L. Severino, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Adeline was born in New Haven on February 10, 1935, a daughter of the late George and Adeline (Acampora) Console.

Adeline married, became a homemaker and devoted herself to raising her family while also working at the family businesses. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her children and extended family, cooking and baking, putting out the most amazing Italian spreads.

Adeline was an avid Notre Dame and UConn sports fan and she never missed her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals. Adeline loved to feed the birds in her yard, enjoyed gardening and making puzzles and her cat Lily.

A proud breast cancer survivor, she was a participant in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk each year.

Adeline is survived by her children, Louis Severino, Laurie (John) Severino, Lynne (Leo) Severino and Matthew Severino (Kristin); seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Dennis) Dougan, Stephanie (Ryan) Greenwood, Michael and Dominic Severino, and Matthew, Kathryn, and Melissa Severino; and five great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Maddilyn and Aiden Greenwood and Brandon and Mackenzie Dougan. She was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis Console and Antoinette Picone.

Adeline’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Monday, March 6, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from The Wallingford Funeral Home at 9 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Adeline’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society/Breast Cancer Research, Attention to Making Strides of Connecticut, Code G489QU, P.O. Box 280285, East Hartford CT 06128.
