Obituary: Alexander Paul Martin, 65, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Alexander Paul Martin, 65, of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly, July 5, 2023 at his home.

Alex was born in New Haven on January 23, 1958, a son of Leonard Martin Jr. of Wallingford and the late Elizabeth (Luth) Martin.

Alex worked for the Connecticut Department of Transportation in the maintenance division. Alex was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed watching sports. He also played softball for years in Wallingford. He loved sitting on his deck listening to music with his best friend, his brother John. He enjoyed camping and looked forward to opening day fishing with friends and family.

He dedicated his life after retirement to taking care of his mother. Alex had the biggest heart and kindest soul. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving besides his father are his brothers, John Martin of Hebron and Leonard Martin and his wife, Arlene, of Wallingford; his sister, Elizabeth Gogliettino and her husband, James, of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.

Alex’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private.
