Obituary: Anita Malentacchi, 84, of Wallingford
Anita began her 38-year career teaching elementary school in Wallingford at Yalesville School before moving to Pond Hill School.

Anita Malentacchi, 84, of Wallingford, died Sunday, December 3, 2017.
She was born in Wallingford, July 16, 1933, a daughter of the late Angelo and Augustina (Dringoli) Malentacchi. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity School and Lyman Hall H.S. before going onto complete her Bachelor and sixth year degrees at Southern Connecticut State University.

Anita began her 38 year career teaching elementary school in Wallingford at Yalesville School before moving to Pond Hill School where she taught until her retirement. She had been an active parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church where she was a Lector for many years.
In her retirement, Anita loved spending time at her second home in West Yarmouth, MA. Although Anita had no children of her own, she was a cherished “Auntie” to many who will miss her greatly, especially her wise guidance and cooking. She will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness and understanding.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” (Mrs. Charles) Bukowski, and Inez (Mrs. Anthony) Wasilewski; her nephew and Godson, Peter A. Wasilewski; and her dear friend, David T. Warren. She will be missed by her nephews and nieces, William C. Wasilewski and his wife Donna, Tonia W. Mansolf, Richard A. Wasilewski and his wife Kim, Anne W. Nations, Charles Bukowski and his wife Susan, Thomas Bukowski and his wife Sharon, her Godson, Neil Bukowski and his wife Julie, and Karen Wasilewski; 13 great nieces and nephews; 15 great-great nieces and nephews; her dear friend with whom she recently resided, Carol Warren MacDonald and Carol’s children, Dr. Christine Signore and Godson, David W. MacDonald; and her lifelong friends, Theresa Gargaly, Audrey Carretta, Shirley Fritz, Marjorie Trowbridge and the late Joan Calatayud.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. directly at Most Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Most Holy Trinity Church, 68 N. Colony St., Wallingford, CT 06492.
