Obituary: Atty. Ronald Morgan Gregory, 76, Of Wallingford
Ronald was a candidate for Mayor of Wallingford in 1979 and 1981 and a former party Town Chairman.

Atty. Ronald Morgan Gregory, 76, lifelong resident of Yalesville, died peacefully, Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at MidState Medical Center.
He was formerly employed by the Connecticut Secretary of the State and retired from the State Elections Enforcement Commission. He was owner of the Eli Ronken Emporium, in Durham for 10 years. A graduate of Yalesville Grammar School, Lyman Hall High School, Assumption College and the University of Connecticut School of Law, he was the writer of “Liberty Laurel”, a state song, and creator of “Campaign for Election”, a board game.

Ronald was a candidate for Mayor of Wallingford in 1979 and 1981 and a former party Town Chairman. He served on a Wallingford Charter Revision Commission and was active in People Against Garbage Burning. The proud champion of several lost causes, he was honest, generous and creative having written several books. He was also a former member of the American, Western New England and Connecticut Iris Societies, being an avid gardener.
Predeceased by his mother, Elisabeth Shatas Gregory, he is survived by his brother Kenneth Gene Gregory and his sister-in-law Susan Dickinson Gregory of Durham; a nephew Matthew Gregory and a niece Suzanne Gregory Wintsch.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Saturday, September 8, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. A funeral service will follow in The Yalesville Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Foundation 4 Orphans, 81 Clintonville Road, North Haven, CT. 06473.
