Audrey Grestini Niro, 87, of North Haven, formerly of East Haven, beloved wife of 50 years to the late Frank C. Niro, passed away on March 15, 2026 surrounded by her family at MidState Medical Center. Loving mother of Joseph (Sue) Niro of Wallingford, Frank J. (Jean) Niro of Hamden and Anne (Alphonse) Piscitelli of North Haven. Grandmother of Ashley Niro, Rachelle Sansone, Evan Dotson, Frank Niro Jr., Alphonse Piscitelli Jr., Jenna Niro, and Nicholas and AnnaMarie Piscitelli. Sister of Jacqueline Santillo of New Haven, Linda (Robert) Vecchio of Wallingford and Anthony (Dona) Cassanova Jr. of Northford. Audrey was born in New Haven on June 28, 1938 daughter of the late Evo Grestini and Molly Posato Cassanova. Prior to her retirement, Audrey was the co-owner, along with her late husband, of Niro Tile. Audrey loved to host, cook and make everyone laugh. She was known for her kindness, loving personality and her never-ending dedication to her family. Audrey was a person whom you could always count on. She belonged to the St. Anne Society at St. Michael Church and the Marchegian Women’s Society of New Haven.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven FRIDAY morning March 20, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Blessed Michael McGivney Parish in St. Michael Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
