Obituary: Barbara (Davenport) Cattey, 90, Of Wallingford
A retired teacher in the Wallingford Public School System, she was famous for how her purse held anything anyone might need.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Barbara (Davenport) Cattey, 90, of Christian Street, Wallingford, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at home. She was the beloved mother of William Cattey.
Barbara was the daughter of R. William and Esther (Hayden) Davenport. A Graduate of Central Connecticut Teacher's College, she was a teacher in the Wallingford Public School System until her retirement in 1987.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was an avid reader and foodie, famous for how her purse held anything anyone might need.

She is survived by her brother William J. Davenport of Somerville Mass., her son, William D. Cattey of Woburn Mass., her long-standing caregiver and valued friend who was like a Daughter to her, Christine Wojewodka of Wallingford, Conn., and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward P. Cattey.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Rd, Wallingford where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
