WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Carmen P. Mendez, 50, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in her home. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas E. Mendez Jr.

Carmen was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, June 7, 1972. She worked for S.N.E.T. and Frontier. Carmen was a Christian and a member of Grace Fellowship Church.

Carmen is survived by her two stepsons and daughter-in-law, Michael L. Mendez and Thomas J. and Maria Mendez, and their daughters; her aunts, Ramona Gonzalez, Julia Gonzalez, Emilia Gonzalez, Nereida Crespo and Andrea Kokoszka; her uncle, Jesus Gonzalez; her step-sisters, several cousins; Isabella Vogt, who brought her joy during her illness; her close friend, Ralph Pizzuti who provided exceptional care to her during her illness and final days; as well as numerous extended family members and beloved friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Carmen Rodriguez; and her sister, Marisol Priete.

Carmen’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Thursday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will then be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
