Obituary: Christopher ‘Gerbs’ M. Gibertoni, 35, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Christopher “Gerbs” M. Gibertoni, 35, of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on January 5, 2023, at his home.

Chris was born in Meriden on June 29, 1987, a son of Joseph Sr. and Cheryl (Scoblow) Gibertoni of Kissimmee, Florida.

Beloved Uncle to 5 and friend to all, he cherished his relationships and made everyone he spoke with feel as if they were the priority. An avid Colts fan (one of one) and a Yankees fan for life, Chris shared his passion for his teams by all who knew him.

Chris loved movies, television shows and debating various plot lines or the merits of character development, but then again... he loved debating anything!

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Joseph Gibertoni Jr. and his wife, Alison of Meriden, Stephen Gibertoni and his wife, Jill, of Fairfield and Jason Gibertoni of St. Petersburg, Florida; his niece and nephews, Nicholas, Tyson, Sarah, Blake and Luke; and his paternal grandmother, Marion Gibertoni; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Yetta Scoblow, paternal grandfather, Lorenzo Gibertoni, and beloved Aunt, Frankie Carron.

Chris’ family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held directly at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wallingford on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford immediately following services.
