Obituary: Claire J. (White) Sweeney, 86, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Claire J. (White) Sweeney, 86, of Wallingford, beloved wife of the late James Sweeney, mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Masonicare in Wallingford.

Claire was born in Bridgeport on August 7, 1936, a daughter of the late Raymond and Eva (McGowan) White. Claire was a devoted wife, mother and proud grandmother as well as a talented seamstress who loved music, dancing and the numerous pets that shared the Sweeney household throughout the years.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Karen (Sweeney) and her husband, Sal Romano of Hamden; Judy (Sweeney) and her husband, James Turiano of Shelton; and Dawn (Sweeney) and her husband, Michael Riccio of Berlin; 2 sons, Ronald Sweeney of Aurora, Colorado and Anthony Sweeney and his wife, Susan of Denver, Colorado; and 9 grandchildren.
