There is no doubt, our father loved to live life!

As a teen growing up in Wallingford, David enjoyed “hanging with his Martin Avenue crew”, horseback riding, fast cars and going to the beach with childhood friends. He often spoke of the youthful trouble he would get into including “racing his mother’s car at the track and then returning home with her groceries” with a glimmer in his eye. Evidently, David could be a bit mischievous.

As his life progressed, David’s interest began to shift towards family and business. He began his insurance career in 1961 at Fishbein Insurance and eventually became sole proprietor of David M. Fishbein Agency. He was proud of his children and the insurance businesses he had helped to build and found passions for real estate, architecture, interior design, and landscaping.

In his later years, David enjoyed summering in Newport and weekends in New Haven where he formed lasting friendships and treasured memories, and spending time spoiling his grandchildren. He continued to work up until his 76th birthday. David loved his customers, and especially loved and respected the people on his team. He could often be seen driving his freshly cleaned convertible listening to his favorite Frank Sinatra songs, joining his friends for daily coffee and “Stopping by Michael’s for just one martini…”

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Lynn Tanoue, Dr Carolyn Rochester and the Yale New Haven Hospital staff who supported our father throughout his illness.
