WALLINGFORD - Erma P. (Ruggiero) Marino, 75, of Wallingford, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert Marino.Erma was born in New Haven, Feb. 2, 1943, a daughter of the late Salvatore and June (Ponzo) Ruggiero. Erma fought a courageous battle over many years.
She never gave up because of the undying love she had for her devoted husband and her family. Better known as Erm or as her husband referred to her "pumpkin." Erma loved her husband Bob of over 55 years immensely. A love story that one could write a book about, as Bob did.

Only he could make her laugh liked no one else ever could, even through her pain. She also loved her little chubby pug Teddy who made her smile. Erma embraced the holidays, Christmas was her favorite, as well as entertaining, cooking and spending time with family. She spent years babysitting her two nephews, Nico and Antonio who knew her as Titi and will forever be touched by the love she gave them. She loved Florida with the dream to live there someday.
She surrounded herself with flowers and loved the sunshine. She was a beautiful as a perfect rose and as bright as the sun. She was our sunshine our only sunshine, and her smile strength and courage through all she endured will be with us forever. You are finally at peace now Erma, with your son, Robert by your side.In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her daughter, Deborah Flynn; her grandchildren, Andrew, Amber and Austin Marino, and Kyle and Corey Flynn; her great-grandchildren, Luke and Owen; her sister, Charise Jandreau; her brothers-in-law, Arnie Jandreau and Michael Apuzzo; and her nephews, Nico and Antonio Jandreau; and many more, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Marino, Jr., and her sister, Regina Apuzzo.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Sunday, April 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 a.m. directly at Church of the Resurrection, 115, Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Interment will be in In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. www.wallingfordfh.com
