Obituary: Eunice M. (Almeida) McGuire, 71, Of Wallingford
"Mickey" loved working as a paraprofessional supporting children with special needs for Wallingford Public Schools.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Eunice M. (Almeida) McGuire, 71, of Wallingford, died Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at MidState Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Kevin P. McGuire Sr.; they had been married for 50 years.
“Mickey” was born in Meriden, August 23, 1952, a daughter of the late Vasco and Muriel (Paddock) Almeida. She graduated from Lyman Hall High School and lived in Wallingford her entire life. She worked at several area retail stores for many years, but her true love was her last position as a paraprofessional supporting children with special needs for Wallingford Public Schools.
Mickey was happiest around family and friends. She had a passion for everything giraffes and feeding the birds especially cardinals in her backyard. She loved the sun and a good book on her front porch. You could set the clock for tea time in the McGuire household.

Mickey survived multiple bouts of cancer, which led to other health complications. She rarely complained or brought focus to her struggles.
In addition to her husband Kevin, she is survived by her children, Kevin P. McGuire Jr. and his wife Christina, David McGuire and Robert McGuire; her grandchildren, Tyler Artkop, Michael Goslin, Katelyn Goslin, David McGuire Jr. Keiarra Savino, Riley McGuire and Aiden McGuire; her great grandchildren, Esme and Violet; her sister, Lois Eldrige and her husband Tom; her sister-in-law, Patricia Almeida; and many nieces, nephews, God-daughters, and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Anne Cecilia McGuire; her brother, Thomas Almeida; and her niece, Carla Almeida.

Mickey helped many in need, was loved by all who met her and will be deeply missed.
