Obituary: Glen E. Hastings, 79, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Glen E. Hastings, 79, of Wallingford, loving husband of Patricia (Rocco) Hastings, passed away June 2, 2023 at MidState Medical Center.

Glen was born in New Haven on August 28, 1943, the son of the late Henry and Frances (Wolcho) Hastings.

Glen served in the United States Army and then with the CT Army National Guard. After his service in the military, he helped out his father with the local family business, Hastings Pharmacy. He eventually pursued a career with the U.S. Postal Service in which he retired from in 2007. During his retirement years, Glen had a passion for working and maintaining the best kept yard in the neighborhood.

Glen was a huge fan of being surrounded by those he loved for friends and family dinners, both at home and out. He also never missed a chance for an after-dinner dessert. But most of all he NEVER missed the opportunity to watch his grandchildren play the sports they loved.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his sons, Mark Hastings of Wallingford and Scott Hastings and his wife, Michelle of Wallingford; and his grandchildren whom he adored, Brayden and Savannah Hastings.

Glen’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A graveside service with military honors will follow in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
