Obituary: Holly Short Lafond, 56, Of Wallingford
Holly worked at the Wallingford Town Clerk's Office, was an elected Registrar of Voters and hosted a 30-plus year annual Toys for Tots drive

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Holly Short Lafond, 56, of Wallingford, unexpectedly passed away from cancer April 30, 2022 with her family by her side.
Holly was born in Meriden on December 18, 1965, daughter of the late Robert Short and Patricia Short-Lee.
Holly was a graduate of Mark T. Sheehan High School and continued her education at Eastern Connecticut State College. Holly was employed at the Wallingford Town Clerk's Office, was an elected Registrar of Voters, a legislative aide to State Senator Brian McDermott, and was most recently senior staff to State Marshal Timothy S. Wall.
Perhaps what Holly will be most remembered for is hosting a 30-plus year annual Toys for Tots drive with her lifelong best friend Jim Fitzsimmons.
Holly was involved in many local civic organizations including the Wallingford Elks, Project Graduation, ACS Relay for Life, CCD Teacher, WGSL Coach, is a member of the Mark T. Sheehan High School Hall of Fame, and she was an avid Yankees fan and soccer spectator.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years David Lafond, daughter Julia, step-children David Lafond and Britnee Wojna (David), her sisters Laura Cannon (Roy) of Wallingford, Donna Bush (John) of Wallingford, Tammy Marquis (Paul) of Gilford, NH, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Marion Connors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m., directly at The Church of the Resurrection, 155 Pond Hill Road in Wallingford.
Holly was a loving wife, who cherished time with her family and friends. Holly's family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford (www.wallingfordfh.com) on Thursday, May 5 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Saint John Cemetery, Wallingford.
