Obituary: James Eric Thompson, 48, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): James Eric Thompson, 48, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully, November 27, 2023 at his home.

Jim was born in Meriden on January 18, 1975 and was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and Lincoln Technical School where he earned his degree in the nursing field. Jim was recently employed with Pratt and Whitney as a machinist.

Jim was an avid guitar player and would often play for many hours. He was also a member in several local bands. Jim was a good prankster and spent countless hours with his many friends. He enjoyed writing poetry and loved travelling on cruises with his wife, Jen. He adored his nieces and nephews. He loved fishing and was also a great sketch artist.

Jim is survived by his mother, Connie Crouse-Shamock and her husband, Bill, of Berlin; his brothers, Jesse Thompson of Southington and Corey Thompson of Berlin, his grandparents, Sal and Carol Lafata of Florida; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Jennifer Thompson of Durham. He was predeceased by his father, Sonny Thompson and his brother, Benjamin Thompson.

There will be no calling hours and a Celebration of his Life and memorial gathering will be announced at a later date. Friends of Jim and the family can make a donation in Jim’s memory to a charity of their choice. Also, please feel free to share any kind stories and fond memories of Jim on social media.
