Obituary: James Gaffney, 86, of Wallingford
James worked at Yale University for 29 years and was a member of the Irish American Community Center, serving as Treasurer for five years.

James Gaffney of Wallingford passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital November 24, 2018 at the age of 86. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth Agatha Gaffney for 50 years. Jim was born in Ardee, Co. Louth, Ireland. Loving father of James E. Gaffney and Tara (Bill) Levine and "Pepa" to granddaughter Taylor Levine. He was predeceased by four brothers, Philip, Patrick, Edmund and Liam Gaffney and two sisters, Maeve Duffy and Maureen Gaffney. He is survived by two sisters, Sheila Gaffney and Bernadette Lillis and many nieces and nephews in Ireland.
James worked at Yale University for 29 years and retired from there in 1997. He was a member of the Irish American Community Center and served as the Treasurer there for five years.

Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford at 10:00 Burial will be private. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4:00- 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Southington, CT 06489-1058.
