Obituary: Jaroslaw ‘Jarek’ Kulas, 42, of Wallingford

Jaroslaw “Jarek” Kulas, 42, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Zana (Gavsina) Kulas, passed away peacefully September 14, 2017 at Masonicare, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle against cancer.

Jaroslaw, known as "Jarek" to his family and friends was born in Mragowo, Poland., April 2, 1975, the loving son of Jan Kulas and Cecylia (Bazydlo) Kulas of North Haven and was raised in Mragowo, Poland.

A graduate of CCSU and The University of Connecticut, Jarek earned a BA degree in Finance and MS in Healthcare Management and went on to work in the healthcare insurance industry. Jarek was an amazing human being, thoughtful, steady, wise and above all else, loving and compassionate. He enjoyed reading, hiking, fishing, playing soccer and his family and friends. He was a father, husband, son, and a person that everyone strives to be. Jarek fought a courageous battle against cancer with dignity and grace and all the while his loving wife and his parents were by his side.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jarek is survived by two beautiful children, Jacob, and Isabella, whom he loved dearly; his sister, Agnieszka Klincewicz and her husband, Andrzej, and their kids Hania and Antos; as well as many aunts; uncles; and cousins in the United States, Poland, and Lithuania.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 19. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory can be made to his children’s education fund, C/O The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford, CT 06492.
