Obituary: Jeffrey Istas, 50, Of Wallingford
Jeff, who worked for Cherry Hill Glass in Branford, had a charismatic personality & was always willing to help anyone with anything he could

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Jeffrey Istas, 50, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Jennifer (Leonard) Istas, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at home surrounded by the love of his family, following a long valiant battle with cancer. He was born in New Haven on June 14, 1971, the only son of the late Paula (Istas) Peach.
Jeff began his career as a glazier in 1999 as a member of the IUPAT (International Union of Painters and Allied Trades). In 2003, he found a permanent home working as a glazier for Cherry Hill Glass in Branford, a family-oriented company that recognized Jeff’s strong managerial abilities and unsurpassed work ethic. Jeff quickly advanced into a position as a project manager, often managing multiple jobs at once. Shortly after his battle with cancer began, he took a role in the drafting department drawing blueprints and supporting project managers. Those fortunate enough to work with Jeff knew of the great pride he took in all that he did.
Jeff had a charismatic personality; his fun-loving spirit could make anyone laugh and he was never afraid to say what was on his mind or stand up for what he believed in. He was loyal, dependable and always willing to help anyone with anything he could. He enjoyed traveling, working on his cars in the garage, riding his Harley with friends and taking Oscar for walks, but above all, Jeff loved spending time with his family.
As a devoted husband, father and grandfather, he constantly put the needs of his family first, even throughout his battle with cancer.
In addition to his cherished wife Jennifer, Jeff is survived by his father, Tom Peach; his daughters and their partners, Amanda Istas & Rob Lake, Emily Istas & Joe Mikolinski and Taylor Clinton & Andrew Badamo; his grandchildren, Julianna and Jax; his loyal canine companion, Oscar; and many other extended family members and very dear friends.
Jeff’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main. St. Ext, on Saturday, Jan. 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. followed by a memorial service and time to share memories starting at 4 p.m. Interment will be private.
