Obituary: John D. Guzik, 51, Of Wallingford
A graduate of Wilcox Tech, he was a self-employed owner of J. G's remodeling, building and contractor for 20 years.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): John Dana Guzik, 51, of Wallingford, died on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. He was born on August 12, 1971, in Meriden, a son of John T. Guzik. and the late Charlotte (Andrade) Guzik.
John was a longtime resident of Wallingford, and was a graduate of Wilcox Tech class of 1990. He was a self-employed owner of J. G’s remodeling, building and contractor for 20 years.
From a very young age John was a very brilliant man possessing multiple skills and talents. He always was a self-starter and highly motivated towards achieving his goals.

Time spent with family and close friends brought him great joy. He enjoyed sharing his cooking skills with others, especially making the best chilly. Traveling and playing mud volleyball were some of his hobbies. Also, he had a passion for collecting model railroads, steins and was very known as being a major football fan.
His battle with a serious medical condition in recent years showed his courage in facing one of life’s challenges with a smile, kindness love and compassion for others.

John is survived by his father, John T. and his wife Joyce Guzik of Belchertown Ma.; and his brother Charles T. and his wife Nelia Guzik of Wallingford; several nieces and nephews as well as many cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Charlotte (Andrade) Guzik in 1994; two sisters Brenda Thompson and Charlene Gregoire and one brother Rex “Pete” Blackshire.
John’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a brief memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
