Obituary: John ‘Jack’ Michael Sheehan Sr., 59, Of Wallingford
A Notre Dame-West Haven graduate, he was a basketball coach for more than 35 years with Hamden Father's Basketball.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): John “Jack” Michael Sheehan Sr., 59, of Wallingford, husband of Teresa (Rouillard/Curtiss) Sheehan, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 22, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
Jack was born in New Haven on February 20, 1963, a son of the late Dominick and Mary Catherine (Gallagher) Sheehan. He graduated from Notre Dame High School of West Haven, class of 1981 and then went on to graduate from Quinnipiac College.
Jack will be remembered by his devoted wife of 25 years, Teresa, his 4 loving children Amanda (Timothy) Lynn, John (Brittany) Sheehan Jr., Christina (Dennis) Bachman, and Alyssa (Tracey) Trujillo, and his 7 beautiful grandchildren Kelsey, Norah, Dominic, Avery, Damien, Caroline and Mackenzie. He also leaves behind his brother David (Megan) Sheehan, sister Kathleen Sheehan, many aunts and uncles, cousins, brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, watching the Boston Red Sox & UCONN basketball. Basketball brought Jack tremendous joy. He was a basketball coach for over 35 years with Hamden Father’s Basketball. During this time, he was involved with both boys and girls leagues of all ages, including the travel team. He also held multiple different titles including President and League Director.
He was a Systems Administrator for CATIC for over 25 years. He developed multiple lifelong friendships with people who continued to support him and his family throughout his illness.

Jack and his family have participated in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s where they created a team named "The Jack Pack." In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to their team via the link https://bndfr.com/h295t.
Jack’s family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to his caregivers Zola and McDonald, for their compassion and dedication to ensuring Jack was able to remain home with his family where he was most comfortable. Along with Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice team, especially Kim Berthiaume.
Jack’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Monday September 26, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
