Obituary: John Joseph Ferraro, 93, Of Wallingford

An entrepreneur, he was the co-owner of The Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant in the 1970's located on South Colony Street in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): John Joseph Ferraro, 93, of Wallingford, passed away December 8, 2022 at MidState Medical Center.

John was born in Wallingford on March 26, 1929, a son of the late Charles and Theresa (Mastroianni) Ferraro.

He was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.

John was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and attended Georgetown University. John was an entrepreneur. He was the co-owner of The Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant in the 1970’s located on South Colony Street in Wallingford. Here he employed many of his friends and loved ones.

The “Scotch” was a vibrant and lively restaurant during his tenure there. John also owned American Circuitron, located in Wallingford and Meriden. Here he manufactured circuit boards and from that one of the first calculators in the industry.

John was an avid skier in the New England area. He enjoyed watching UConn Men’s basketball with his wife Barbara and was a beloved New York Giants football fan.

He also loved his vacations to Florida where he enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of Anna Maria Island. He loved his Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Nicky, Billie and Emmie.

John is survived by his son, Robert Holroyd of Enfield, Connecticut, a grandson, Sean Easton Holroyd of Virginia Beach, Virginia along with step children, Susan Konyu of Wallingford and Richard Holroyd of Middletown. John also is survived by cousins in the New Jersey area. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara and his siblings, Ralph, Angela and James,
