Obituary: Kenneth R. Hartline, 71, of Wallingford

Kenneth R. Hartline, 71, life-long resident of Wallingford, was reunited on Monday, November 21, 2016 with those he loved who passed before him.

He was the husband, partner and best friend of Jeannette S. (Hicks) for the past 43 years. Born in Richmond, VA, on April 17, 1945, he was a son of the late William and Dorothy Hartline.

Ken was the proud father of Sheri Ann “His Angel”, Diana Koons and her husband Jack, and Chad Hartline and his wife Erica. Ken was also the loving grandfather of Ryann and Jaime Koons, and Chad Jr., Grace and Chase Hartline. He is also survived by his siblings, Geraldine Bass and her husband George, William Hartline and his wife Katherine, and Jean Grela and her husband Larry; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Hartline.

Ken served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Nuclear Reactor Operator aboard the U.S.S. Skip Jack for six years. Ken retired after 42 years of employment from Allegheny Ludlum Steel Co. in Wallingford.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Friday, November 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House of CT, 501 George St, New Haven, CT 06511.
