Obituary: Kenneth R. Kogut, 67, Of Wallingford

Ken owned and operated Emerald Green Farm in Wallingford for more than 25 years. He also retired from Kogut Nursery in Meriden.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Kenneth R. Kogut, 67, of Wallingford, husband of Michelle (Marcoux) Kogut, passed away February 2, 2024 at Southington Care Center.

Ken was born in Meriden on April 4, 1956, a son of the late Walter and Josephine (Ferrari) Kogut.

Ken owned and operated Emerald Green Farm in Wallingford for over 25 years, working in nature was where he was most comfortable. He took pride in caring for the orchard and crops and enjoyed having the public come and pick fruit. You would always find him on the store’s porch willing to give plant advice or talk about anything.

He also retired from Kogut Nursery in Meriden and was a long-time member of the Connecticut Nurserymen’s Association.

In addition to his wife, Michelle, he is survived by his son, Douglas Kogut of Meriden; his daughter, Melissa Kogut of Rocky Hill; his brothers, Walter and Don Kogut; his grandchildren, Dominique and Anthony Kogut; his great granddaughter, Halle Hastings; and several nieces and one nephew.

Ken’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, his favorite charity.
