Obituary: Lawrence ‘Larry’ Piasecki, 76, Of Wallingford
A highly decorated soldier, he received many service medals and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 38 years.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Lawrence “Larry” Piasecki, 76, beloved husband of Patricia A. Piasecki, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at The Curtis Home in Meriden.
Born in New Haven on August 10, 1947, Larry was a son of the late Casimer and Mary Rose (Lemmen) Piasecki.
As a young man, he enlisted into the United States Army, proudly serving our country during the Vietnam War. A highly decorated soldier, he received many service medals, including The Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Ribbon with Device Medal, and Expert Badge with Rifle Bar, among others. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Larry worked for the United States Postal Service for over 38 years.

Larry enjoyed the simple things in life, a relaxing walk on the beach, a chance to pet any and every dog that crossed his path, and of course he always had time for a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee. He loved all animals and enjoyed watching basketball, especially his favorite teams, the Boston Celtics and the UCONN women’s team.
In addition to his beloved wife, Patricia, Larry is survived by his daughter, Maria Anderson, and her husband, Tim; his son, Mark Houde and his wife, Maryann; his son, Scott Ugolik; his granddaughters, Sarah Houde and Jaimi Anderson; his brother, Peter Piasecki and his wife, Doreen; his goddaughter, Margaret Piasecki; his sister-in-law, Loretta Piasecki; and his beloved cat, Sammy; as well as several nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Piasecki and Charles Piasecki.

His family would like to thank Hospice, The VA Hospital and The Curtis Home for their kindness, excellent care, and the compassion they provided throughout Larry’s final days.
