Obituary: Leroy A. Dzubin, 91, of Wallingford

Leroy was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Hugh Purvis. He also worked as a police officer for the Town of Milford for many years.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Leroy A. Dzubin, 91, of Wallingford, died peacefully at home Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was the loving husband for 53 years of the late Nancy (Frost) Dzubin.

Lee was born in Bridgeport, May 19, 1929, son of the late Alexander and Madeline (Stevens) Dzubin. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving on the destroyer the U.S.S. Hugh Purvis and worked as a police officer for the Town of Milford until his retirement.

He was generous, hardworking, and in his younger years, a hard-living guy with a great sense of humor who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed golf, college football, westerns and books about the naval battles of World War ll.

He is survived by his children, Rick Dzubin (Donna), Nancy Matyasovsky, and Karen Munck (Tom); his grandchildren, Rick Dzubin, Geoff Dzubin, Matt Dzubin (Heather), Jamie Piazza (Jon Skulski), Karrie Paz (Matt) and Tom Munck; his special niece, Marcy Hadden (Alec) and their children Stephanie and Cody; his great grandchildren, Izabel, Olivia, Myles, Ethan and Zoe Dzubin, Keaton and Calder Skulski, andMatthew and Ryan Paz as well as numerous other nephews, nieces and their families.

He is also survived by his very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Denni Farney and their sons, Glen (Della) and Kevin (Jodi Taylor); his lifelong friends, Bill and Norma Jaques; and his adopted families: the Brennan’s, the Wasilewski’s, the Murphy’s and the Thornton’s.
He was predeceased by his sister, Alberta Luciano; and his brother and sister-in-law, George Frost and Alice Hutchinson,

As per Lee’s request, funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
