Obituary: Louis D. Mastropetre, 70, of Wallingford

Louis D. Mastropetre, 70, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford. He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Debra Benson Mastropetre. Louis was born in New Haven on November 3, 1948 and was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Quigley Mastropetre. He had worked as a truck driver for Unisource Paper and later for Kamco Supply Corporation.

Louis was a quiet simple man enjoying happy hours at home with his wife before watching David Muir World News Tonight and Wheel of Fortune on the television while eating popcorn and taking frequent trips to the casino.

Father of Louis D. Mastropetre II, David Mastropetre (fiancé Valerie Thompson), Jeffrey Mastropetre and his wife Mareena Palazhi. Grandfather of Gabriella, Thomas, Logan and the late Julia Mastropetre. Brother of Salvatore (Ruth) Mastropetre, Michael (Melanie) Mastropetre and the late Joan Torres and Thomas Mastropetre. Brother-in-law of Michelle Mastropetre. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The visiting hours will be Wednesday (Jan. 9) from 4 p.m. to 7 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Church of the Resurrection at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
