WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Maureen E. Richter, 60, of Wallingford, loving wife of Carl Richter, passed away unexpectedly January 7, 2024 at her home.

Maureen was born in Milford on April 22, 1963, a daughter of the late Daniel and Marjorie (Blake) Dixon.

Maureen was an avid baseball (Boston Red Sox) and hockey (New York Rangers) fan. She and Carl first met on a hockey booster club bus trip. During 37 years of marriage they've logged many miles visiting 45 baseball and hockey stadiums together.

Maureen was a loving mother and put much of her time and energy into raising their two children. She was actively involved in all of their various school and extracurricular activities, also working as a library clerk at Yalesville Elementary School.

She will be remembered for her gentle heart, willingness to help and love of LEGOs, puzzles, Harry Potter and re-watching her favorite movies (Mamma Mia, Dirty Dancing & Grease, to name a few).

She is survived by her husband, Carl; her son, Eric Richter of Pflugerville, TX; her daughter, Robin Zimmerman and her husband, Andrew, of Center Valley, PA; her grandson, Jacob Zimmerman; and her brother, David Dixon of Milford, CT.
