WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Michael M. Horvath Jr., 85, of Wallingford, beloved husband of the late Donna (Grindell) Horvath, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease, on Sunday, August 14, 2022. He was born in Meriden on September 4, 1936, son of the late Michael and Helen (Sabo) Horvath.

As a young man, Michael proudly served in the United States Army and continued to be an AMVETS member. He then went on to work for Allegheny – Ludlum, Wallingford Steel for many years until his retirement in 1998.

Michael shared successful business ownerships with his wife in both Amway and Market America. He and his beloved wife traveled extensively throughout their marriage. He continued his love of travel with his sons and daughter in taking frequent trips to Atlantic City, Las Vegas, the Berkshires, Newport and Vermont. He enjoyed dancing and doing puzzles at the Wallingford Senior Center and was an avid fan of UConn Women’s Basketball, Boston Red Sox and New York Giants.

Michael is survived by his sons, Stephen Horvath of Duncan, SC and his fiancé, Beverly of Long Island, NY and Gary Horvath and his wife, Linda of Meriden; his daughter, Carrie Horvath of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Michael Horvath and Aliya Horvath; his great-granddaughter, Rosalee; and numerous extended family members and friends.
