Obituary: Michael A. Mastroianni, 88, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Michael A. Mastroianni, 88, of Wallingford, beloved husband of the late Judith (Fowler) Mastroianni, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, after a brief illness and surrounded by his children.

Michael was born in New Haven on May 27, 1934, the only son of the late Domenico and Rose (DeMichele) Mastroianni and a lifelong resident of Wallingford. He began his career in banking in Wallingford and then for many years managed his own professional tax and accounting services firm in town.

Michael’s most joyful memories and time spent centered around his loving family.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Donna A. Mastroianni, of New York City; his sons, James M. Mastroianni and his wife, Anna, of Wallingford and Richard C. Mastroianni and his wife, Tammi, of Wallingford; his most precious grandchildren, Kristi, Jennifer, Rebecca, Cassandra, Michael, Andrew, Allison, and Nicholas; his daughter-in-law, Karen F. Mastroianni, of Scottsdale; his nephew Mark P. DeAngelis and his wife Mary Jo of New Haven; and his extended family. Michael was predeceased by his younger sister Rosemary (Mastroianni) DeAngelis, of Wallingford; and his cherished eldest son William D. Mastroianni, of Scottsdale.

The family wishes to thank the caring professionals at Hartford Healthcare Medical Group. We are grateful for the long, happy life Michael shared with us, deeply saddened by his sudden passing, and heartened in faith that he is now reunited with his beloved Judy and William.
