A large part of the restaurant’s success, in addition to great food, was Michael’s amazing service and ready smile. He believed that every stranger was just a friend he hadn’t met yet.
Michael found joy in many pastimes, like fishing on the Connecticut shoreline and working on his cars and trucks. His greatest joy was the time spent with his beloved dogs, Sage and Copper, who he is now reunited.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Robert McAviney III and his wife, Alexandra, of La Mesa, CA, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
