Obituary: Nancy M. Schramm Callahan, 88, of Wallingford
Nancy, an avid reader and big Penn State Nittany Lions football fan, worked many years as a secretary for the Hamden Board of Education.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) Nancy M. Schramm Callahan, 88, of Wallingford, formerly of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Nov., 19,2021 at her home with her family at her side.
Wife of the late Robert J. "Ace" Callahan Sr. Beloved mother of Whitney Anne Hemstock and husband Charles of Wallingford and the late Robert J. Callahan Jr.
Loving grandmother of Sage Callahan, Orion Callahan, Camryn Christensen and LeeAnne Hemstock.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Eleanor Carey and brothers Henry, Kenny and Tommy Schramm. She was born July 13, 1933 in New Haven a daughter of the late Henry and Anna Whitney Schramm and was a graduate of Hillhouse High School where she was Head Majorette.
After the death of her husband in 1982 she went to work as a secretary for the Hamden Board of Education until her retirement. Nancy was an avid reader and was a big fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 in Our Lady of MT Carmel Church, Hamden.
Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Calling hour will be Tuesday morning prior to the mass from 9:30-10:30 at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
