Obituary: Remie Torres, 94; Formerly Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Remie (Calatayud) Torres, 94, of Naples, FL, formerly of Wallingford, CT, died October 9, 2022 in Naples, FL. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph A. Torres.

She was born in New York City, March 9, 1928, a daughter of the late Pedro and Joaquina (Alemany) Calatayud. She retired from the Town of Wallingford Police Department where she worked in the Records Division.

Remie enjoyed painting nature landscapes, baking, and entertaining guests at their home.

Mrs. Torres is survived by her sons, Peter Torres of East Hampton, CT, and Joseph Torres of Rutland, Vermont; her daughter, Remi Borak of Santa Monica, California; her grandchildren Samantha and Bryan Torres, Sara Torres, Justin and Jamieson Borak; and her brother Fred Calatayud Sr.

She was predeceased by her sibling Peter Calatayud.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, CT on Saturday, Oct. 29th from 9:30-10:30am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30am. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Alzhiemer’s Association (www.alz.org).
