Obituary: Richard ‘Richie’ Dinneen, 85, Of Wallingford

Richard served in the United States Army Medical Corp and later retired from AT &T.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Richard “Richie” Dinneen, 85, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at MidState Medical Center with his family by his side.

Richie was born in New Haven on June 26, 1937, a son of the late John M. and Irene (Turner) Dinneen.

Richard served in the United States Army Medical Corp and later retired from AT &T. He was known for his cooking and wasn’t afraid to try new dishes or flavors. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching the Golden Girls.

He is survived by his brother, Frederick Dinneen; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Willis and his brothers, John, William, James, Robert and Donald Dinneen.

Richard’s family would like to thank the staff and MidState Medical Center and Hartford Health Care at Home for the care and compassion they provided to him.

A graveside funeral service will be held at the family plot in St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave, West Haven, CT on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford.
