Obituary: Robert D. Rooney, 73, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Robert D. Rooney, 73, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Dotty (Thompson) Rooney, passed away October 12, 2022 at his home with family by his side.

Bob was born in Hartford on August 5, 1949, a son of the late Robert and Margaret (Deely) Rooney.

Bob worked his entire career as an office supply salesman and manager.

Besides the love of his life, his wife, Dotty, he is survived by his children, Sarah Rooney of Long Beach, CA, Robert Rooney and his wife, Angie, of England and David Rooney of Wallingford; brothers-in-law George Thompson and his wife, Lyn, and Glenn Thompson and his wife, Mary Ellen; sister-in-law, Tina Rooney; nephews, Keith Thompson and his wife, Becca, Kevin Thompson; niece, Caroline Thompson; and his beloved dog, Shadow. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Rooney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 12 p.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford.
