Obituary: Robert R. Zima, 93, Of Wallingford

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been employed as an accountant for the State of Connecticut until his retirement.

Robert R. Zima, 93, of the Yalesville section of Wallingford, died peacefully, Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Regency House in Wallingford.

Robert was born in Meriden, November 21, 1924, a son of the late Walter Zima and Margaret (Myers) Zima. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been employed as an accountant for the State of Connecticut until his retirement.

He is survived by many loving nieces; nephews; grandnieces; and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Marjorie Fritz and Bernadette Hartigan; and his brother Joseph Meyer.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Friday, January 12, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Road, Yalesville, Ct. 06492.
