Obituary: Rowena M. Olson, 84, of Wallingford

Rowena M. Olson, 84, of Wallingford passed peacefully passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Regency House.A daughter of the late Charles E. and Vivian Chambers Olson, she was born in Bloomfield, VT, February 11, 1934.

She had a strong work ethic her entire life. She worked at Stanley Judd, many part time jobs and Quinnipiac University where she retired from at age 79. She was an avid reader, loved to dance, an excellent cake maker, and the love she had for her family are just a few things that made her the special person she was.Rowena is survived by her four sons and three daughter-in-laws, William Brooks Jr. & Pamela, Gregory Brooks, Steven & Mary Brooks, Jason & Marianne Brooks.

Her five grandchildren. Margaret St. Pierre, Morgan Brooks, Jason Brooks, Alana Davenport and Shannon Jones. She also leaves six great-grandchildren, her sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Richard Farone, her brother, Charles Olson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Berline.Her family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Friday April 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rowena’s memory may be directed to The Alzheimer’s Association online at alz.org/ct.
